Full-Time Sr. Professional Services Consultant, NGFW

Your CareerThe Professional Services Consultant is integral to our mission. As a Consultant, you provide onsite/remote deployment and configuration expertise for Palo Alto Networks solutions. You are the product Subject Matter Expert, interacting directly with customer personnel and project teams. You provide technical direction, interpretations, and alternatives to best practice deployment methodology. This is a highly technical, hands-on role, developing and maintaining expertise on our deployed products/solutions.

You'll get into the details of our platform, pushing buttons, flipping levers, and turning knobs. You embrace difficult cybersecurity implementation and integration challenges. You are the technical authority, helping customers secure their digital environments and training their staff. Experience on our platform is desired; however, a strong foundation in networking and security technologies is paramount. Extensive competitor technology experience is advantageous. Many opportunities involve migrating clients to our platform; understanding their technology is key to successful consulting.

Your Impact

• Solution Implementation & Customization: Migrate customers to Palo Alto Networks platforms from legacy technologies, build custom security policies/application signatures.
• Operational Support & Maintenance: Analyze logs, perform initial troubleshooting, and work with the Technical Assistance Center to diagnose issues. Provide after-hours/weekend on-call support.
• Technical Expertise & Service Delivery Excellence: Maintain solution expertise, mentor on code upgrades/best practices, ensure client needs/deliverables are met on time/scope.

Your Experience

• 8+ years of relevant experience in Network Engineering, Architecture, Security Engineering, technical consulting.
• Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks PANOS features (SSL Decryption, User-ID, App-ID, CDL, Reporting, Log Forwarding, AIOps).
• Hands-on experience in PKI & SSL, TCP/IP, BGP, IPSec.
• Installation, configuration, and operation of high-end firewall appliances (Palo Alto Networks).
• Strong troubleshooting skills for networking (routing, IP, NAT, IPSEC VPNs) and application/user interactions.
• Hands-on experience with at least one Public Cloud Provider (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Extensive background in internetworking, LAN, WAN technologies.
• IDS/IPS solutions and technologies experience.
• Security solutions leadership in large environments.
• Understanding of security threats, internet protocols, and applications.
• Excellent written/verbal communication with senior leaders/technical/non-technical partners.
• Ability to work with customer security/network teams to build confidence and adoption.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and manage pressure.
• Relevant certifications (PCNSE/PCNSC, CCNP, CISSP, CCIE).
