We are seeking a Staff Cyber Security Engineer to join our NBCU Security Architecture team. This role will collaborate with NBCUniversal businesses, enterprise IT, and the Cyber Security organization to ensure secure technology design and deployment aligned with security and enterprise strategies. This includes conducting security and threat analysis of initiatives involving new or modified technology.
The successful candidate will function as a technical SME across various Cyber Security technology areas, including network, application, cloud, and enterprise security controls. They will provide security guidance and mitigation requirements, and effectively communicate the importance of Cyber programs to stakeholders to gain support.
- Basic Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience partnering with business and technical teams for Cyber solutions.
- 8+ years of experience consulting with business teams on threat mitigation.
- Understanding of common threats to Network, Cloud, Web, and Application environments.
- Knowledge of Cyber Security best practices (OWASP Top 10, CWE/SANS Top 25).
- Advanced technical knowledge in at least one Cyber security area.
- Strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Experience developing and documenting security guidelines/best practices.
- Experience using diagramming tools to communicate designs.
- Excellent time management.
- Desired Characteristics:
- Experience with Threat Analysis and modeling (MITRE ATT&CK).
- Familiarity with security controls (Cloud Security Matrix, NIST CSF, CIS Critical Security Controls).
- Understanding of data and privacy regulations (PCI DSS, SOX, HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA).
- In-depth knowledge of Cloud Services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
- Understanding of Cybersecurity Engineering/Operations, Incident Response, and GRC.
- Ability to balance security guidelines with operational needs.

- Salary range: $125,000 - $155,000 (bonus eligible).
