Full-Time Staff Cyber Security Engineer (Generative AI)

We are seeking a Staff Cyber Security Engineer to join our NBCU Security Architecture team, focused on emerging technologies including AI.

This role partners with various NBCUniversal businesses, enterprise IT, and Cyber Security to ensure secure technology design and deployment aligned with strategies.

Responsibilities include:

• Acting as security subject matter expert with broad knowledge across domains.
• Working embedded with engineering teams to deliver solutions.
• Focusing on security controls for AI systems and other emerging technologies.
• Developing threat models and control strategies integrated into technology design and operation.
• Collaborating across the Cyber organization and business stakeholders.
• Providing security guidance and mitigation requirements.
• Communicating the importance of Cyber programs to obtain business and technology support.

Basic Requirements:

• 8+ years experience partnering with business and technical teams.
• Ability to explain common threats to network, cloud, web, and application environments, and design mitigations.
• Some knowledge of ML and generative AI technologies.
• Knowledge of Cyber Security best practices.
• Advanced technical knowledge in one or more security domains with expertise in designing complex systems and risk mitigation.
• Strong communication and presentation skills adaptable to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Willingness to learn, experiment with new technologies, and mentor junior team members.
• Experience developing and documenting security guidelines or best practices.
• Excellent time management skills for prioritizing concurrent projects.

Desired Characteristics:

• Experience performing Threat Analysis and modeling leveraging frameworks.
• Familiarity with security control frameworks.
• In-depth knowledge of generative AI platforms, models, and underlying safety/security risks.
• Understanding of data and privacy regulations.
• In-depth knowledge of common cloud services and platforms.
• Understanding of Cybersecurity Engineering, Incident Response, and GRC.
• Empathy for engineering teams balancing security guidelines with operational needs.

Additional Requirements:

• Fully remote position, contributing from a non-NBCUniversal worksite.
• Eligible for company-sponsored benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k, paid leave, tuition reimbursement).
• Salary range: $125,000 - $155,000 (bonus eligible).
