Full-Time Staff Cyber Security Engineer (Generative AI)

We are looking for a Staff Cyber Security Engineer to be part of our NBCU Security Architecture team, focused on emerging technologies including AI. This role partners with NBCUniversal businesses, enterprise IT, and Cyber Security to ensure secure technology design and deployment aligned with Cyber Security and enterprise strategies.

Responsibilities:

• Security subject matter expert with broad knowledge across various domains.
• Embedded with engineering teams delivering solutions for NBCUniversal.
• Focus on security controls for AI systems and other emerging technologies.
• Develop threat models and control strategies for new and evolving technology platforms.
• Collaborate with Cyber organization and business stakeholders to provide security guidance and/or mitigation requirements.
• Communicate the importance of Cyber programs and services to gain support and buy-in from business and technology teams.

Basic Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience partnering with business and technical teams to architect secure products.
• Ability to explain common threats (Network, Cloud, Web, Application) and design mitigations.
• Knowledge of ML and generative AI security concerns and mitigations.
• Knowledge of Cyber Security best practices (OWASP Top 10, CWE/SANS Top 25).
• Advanced technical knowledge in one or more security domains, designing complex systems and mitigating significant risks.
• Strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
• Willingness to mentor junior team members.
• Ability to provide constructive feedback.
• Experience developing and documenting security guidelines or best practices.
• Constant learner, experimenting with new technologies.

Desired Characteristics:

• Threat Analysis and modeling leveraging frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK.
• Familiarity with security control frameworks (Cloud Security Matrix, NIST CSF, CIS Critical Security Controls).
• In-depth knowledge of generative AI platforms (Azure OpenAI, GPT-4, Llama, Midjourney).
• Understanding of data and privacy regulations (PCI DSS, SOX, HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA).
• In-depth knowledge of common Cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
• Understanding of Cybersecurity Engineering/Operations, Incident Response, and GRC.
• Empathy for engineering teams, balancing security with operational needs.

Salary Range: $125,000 - $155,000 (bonus eligible)
