Full-Time Staff Data Platform Engineer

About Onebrief: Onebrief is a platform for military staff workflows and operational planning, enabling smarter, real-time decisions with collaboration features, AI-enhanced tools, and customizable workflows.

What You'll Achieve: You'll establish the foundation of our data processing capabilities to enhance strategic vision and product decision-making. You'll implement advanced data storage and analysis solutions, design and implement effective data strategies and architectures. You'll have opportunities to lead and mentor new team members.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with leadership to define data needs
• Design and architect a scalable data platform
• Build solutions for quality data to analysts and leadership
• Enhance administrative tooling (access systems, dashboards, visualization tools)

About You: You have hands-on experience building and deploying data platforms, expertise in modern data processing solutions, and a pragmatic approach. You thrive on initiative and delivering results.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3+ years experience in data platform implementation and management
• 5+ total years experience in engineering or technical operations
• Strong SQL and relational database expertise
• Knowledge of ETL processes and data integration
• Experience with data warehousing solutions (Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake)
• Proficiency in Python/Java/TypeScript/JavaScript
• Experience with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with version control (Git)
