About this roleOmniscient Digital is seeking a writer experienced with startup finance, equity, and compliance. Please note: We do not work with subcontractors.
Responsibilities
- Create blog content (and potentially other marketing content) focused on startup founders, CFOs, venture-backed employees, and financial/legal professionals.
- Translate complex legal/financial concepts into accessible content (e.g., IRC 409A, SEC regulations).
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends (e.g., crypto-equity).
- Use company brand voice and messaging.
- Ensure content accuracy, readability, and compliance.
- Interview subject matter experts (SMEs).
- Manage projects on time and to quality standards.
- Suggest content optimizations and strategies.
Qualifications
- 2+ years experience writing about startup finance and equity.
- Understanding of fundraising, 409A valuations, cap tables, employee equity, tax law, and compliance.
- Strong knowledge of venture capital financing (e.g., SAFE notes, priced rounds).
- Ability to break down complex concepts into engaging narratives.
- Experience interviewing SMEs.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Passion for startups and financial storytelling.
- Experience writing for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
- SEO experience.
- Positive attitude, openness to new ideas, and a passion for crafting excellent content.
- Experience with print and digital media formats.
- Proficient in word processors (Microsoft Word, Google Docs) and PDF software (Adobe Acrobat).
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with startup equity management or venture finance.
- Understanding of crypto-based equity and regulatory considerations.
- Experience with investor relations and compliance reporting.
Portfolio
Required: 3-5 recent (within 3 years) sample articles, at least 2 related to startup finance and equity.
