Full-Time Substance Misuse Practitioner

• Develop and embed links between services, working directly with children and young people accessing Mindworks Surrey.
• Provide sustained support to a pre-defined caseload of young people through effective assessment and care planning.
• Act as a link worker between Surrey Mindworks and Catch22 SYPSMS, ensuring delivery of an integrated provision.
• Deliver therapeutic interventions, such as brief solution focused and motivational interviewing.
• Assess levels of presenting risk associated with substance misuse, and provide support in managing this risk.
• Deliver training and workshops to support and upskill staff.
• Identify and develop resources to support professionals working with children and young people with substance misuse issues.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies.

• Relevant qualification in youth work, counselling, health and social care, or related experience.
• Good communication, organizational, and ICT skills.
• Knowledge and competency in delivering young people’s substance misuse interventions.
• Understanding of supporting children and young people with emotional wellbeing and mental health difficulties.
• Ability to maintain high standards of record keeping.
• Driving license, access to a vehicle, MOT and business insurance required.
