THE POSITION: The Senior Vice President, Custom Practice Leader, leads and expands the custom research practice. This involves developing tailored market evidence solutions, driving business growth, and ensuring high-quality insights. The SVP works closely with clients, internal teams, and leadership to align custom research with strategic objectives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the custom research practice, developing strategies to meet client needs and drive growth.
- Develop and grow custom business by $2M-$3M in two years, generating leads and moving business through the sales cycle.
- Oversee custom market evidence project design, execution, and delivery.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Collaborate with data analytics, product development, and marketing teams to deliver comprehensive insights.
- Ensure quality and compliance with industry regulations.
- Manage budgets, resources, and timelines effectively.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing team.
- Stay current with industry trends and research methodologies.
- Represent the division in executive meetings and conferences.
- Demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

PEOPLE LEADER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for and overseeing department activities.
- Interview, select, and supervise staff.
- Communicate company policies and procedures to the team.
- Determine job objectives, work methods, and performance standards.
- Review performance, conduct performance appraisals, and discuss salary changes.
- Authorize and communicate salary changes, promotions, transfers, discipline, and discharge.
EXPECTATIONS:

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, Data Science, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in market research, data analytics, or related field in life sciences/healthcare.
- Proven leadership experience managing large teams and complex projects.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Proficiency in advanced data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., SAS, SPSS, R).
- Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL, Oracle).
- Familiarity with machine learning and AI technologies.
- Understanding of regulatory compliance software and standards.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's or Ph.D. in related field
- 10-15+ years of experience
- Experience with advanced analytical techniques and emerging technologies
- Strong network within the life sciences industry
- Ability to influence and collaborate with senior executives
- Certifications in data analysis, project management, or related fields (e.g., PMP, Certified Analytics Professional)
