Position SummaryAs a System Architect in our North American Service Delivery group, you will be responsible for the high-level design and implementation of complex computer systems and networks. This role involves analyzing system requirements, ensuring systems are secure, efficient, and scalable, and providing technical leadership throughout the system development lifecycle.
Duties and Responsibilities
- System DesignDevelop and document comprehensive system architectures, including hardware, software, and network components, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical standards.
- Requirement AnalysisCollaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze system requirements, translating them into technical specifications.
- IntegrationEnsure seamless integration of new systems with existing infrastructure, identifying and resolving any compatibility issues.
- SecurityImplement robust security measures to protect data and systems from threats, including encryption, firewalls, and access controls.
- Performance MonitoringContinuously monitor system performance, identifying and addressing bottlenecks, and optimizing system efficiency.
- DocumentationMaintain detailed documentation of system architecture, configurations, and changes, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for future reference.
- Technical LeadershipProvide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and best practices.
EducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
CertificationsOpen Group Certified Architect, Certified System Architect (CSA), Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or similar certification(s) are an asset.
KnowledgeSystem architecture design principles, methodologies, frameworks, and best practices; Network protocols, configurations, and security; Cybersecurity principles, practices, and tools; Project management fundamentals.
Experience7-10 years of experience in system architecture or related roles, with a proven track record of designing and implementing complex systems.
Soft SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, and the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
CompetenciesAbility to work under pressure, attention to detail, adaptability, and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues.
