Full-Time Systems Engineering Manager

Manager, Systems Engineering, Commercial is the technical leader for a team of 11 Systems Engineers distributed nationally.

Responsibilities:

• Guide and develop team to become comprehensive architects with multi-discipline skills.
• Foster cross-training in SOC, Cloud, Networking, and NetSec.
• Drive a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.
• Equip team members to engage CIOs, CTOs, and CISOs with cost-benefit analyses.
• Recruit and hire top-tier Systems Engineers.
• Provide training, mentoring, and career development.
• Support team in complex evaluations, problem-solving, and customer environments.
• Lead technical validation efforts.
• Define and monitor individual development plans.
• Drive cross-training initiatives.
• Ensure the team can articulate business value.
• Work with Professional Services, Customer Success, and Specialist teams.
• Provide technical leadership in customer interactions.
• Drive Palo Alto Networks platform adoption.
• Act as an escalation point for pre-sales and post-sales teams.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Present to customers at all levels (technical to C-level).
• Develop competitive knowledge and coach the team.
• Ensure the team can architect large, complex environments.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Technical Marketing, and R&D.
• Travel up to 30-50% nationally.

Skills & Experience:

• Experience leading pre-sales Systems Engineering teams.
• Strong technical background as a Senior System Engineer.
• Expertise in architecting security solutions.
• Deep understanding of the competitive landscape.
• Proven ability to translate technical solutions into business value.
• Strong business acumen.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
