Technical Delivery Lead / Manager - Data & Engineering Service Line Remote, US and Canada

Cuesta Partners is seeking a data and digital technology expert with a consulting interest to collaborate with clients on diverse engagements, from broader portfolio company strategy to specific data analyses.

As a delivery lead/manager, you will lead teams to rapidly deliver data environments using modern technologies and best practices.

Responsibilities

You'll shape and build green field areas, impacting clients' data landscape. Collaborating closely with leadership, you'll establish technology best practices to provide analytical insights. Your mission is to deliver end-to-end data solutions, leveraging expertise to unlock valuable insights and drive actionable decisions. You'll ensure data models are reusable, pipelines are scalable, and visualizations are impactful.

Your expertise in choosing, developing, and optimizing data technology environments will be crucial to driving data-driven initiatives forward.

This role ensures that development follows standards, specifications, controls, audits, and procedures to maintain data integrity, quality, accuracy, usefulness, and timeliness.

While remote, occasional travel may be required for critical sessions.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years' experience as a Data Engineer or similar role
• Strong background in designing and implementing data solutions
• Proficiency in data modeling, ETL processes, data integration
• Experience with data warehousing solutions, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), relevant tools (SQL, Python, Spark)
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Ability to lead refinement activities and delegate work
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
• Ability to balance technical requirements with business goals and client needs
• Effective communication skills, both technical and non-technical
• High degree of organization and ability to manage competing priorities
• Collaborative working style

Responsibilities

• Act as a subject matter expert in data engineering, providing guidance and support to resolve technical challenges and optimize performance
• Lead architectural discussions, providing insights into design decisions and trade-offs
• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of client-facing and internal data projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, scope, and quality standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Data Scientists, Analysts, business stakeholders)
• Collaborate closely with the Account Lead to define the technology strategy and roadmap for the Data Team
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, and methodologies, driving efficiency and innovation within the Data Team
