Job Details

The Test Analyst role involves supporting the Test Assurance Manager and Test lead in testing activities. Responsibilities include:
  • Planning, scripting, reporting, and execution across various test environments.
  • Learning complex software systems and providing testing support.
  • Ensuring the integrity of production environments.
  • Articulating requirements in a RVTM into Test Scenarios and Test Cases/Specifications.
  • Examining and matching existing Test Scripts to RVTM requirements.
  • Liaising with Customers Fire Service and Control Room allocated Test Managers.

The Test Analyst will also:

  • Support the testing of new and existing software, upgrades, and fixes.
  • Assist with test estimations, analysis of test scenarios, and creation/execution of test scripts and test plans.
  • Support the planning, design, execution, and reporting of testing and defects.
  • Provide feedback and testing impact assessments.
  • Create knowledge transfer documentation.

Processes/Delivery:

  • Actively participate in continuous improvement for test processes, techniques, and tools.
  • Support the development, use, and maintenance of test ware.
  • Stay updated on the latest techniques and suggest future technologies.
  • Champion industry best practice for testing and support automated testing.
  • Assist with manual testing, regression testing, and reporting of defects.
  • Assist with the preparation of Test plans and test scripts.
  • Record software defects with thorough technical descriptions.
  • Manage workload and attend defect and requirement/testing review meetings.
  • Have interest in automation (e.g. AI, PowerShell scripting, C# etc).
  • Assist with Non-functional tests as required.

Project:

  • Provide test support including planning, scripting, and test execution.
  • Support the creation of Test documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to all test standards and procedures.
  • Assist with the resolution of issues found during testing.

  • Be self-motivating with a passion for testing and software quality.
  • Encourage transparency, communication, and engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Higher / further / appropriate educational qualification(s) or demonstrable equivalent experience
  • Qualified to ISEB/ ISTQB Foundation/intermediate level (desirable)
  • Automated Testing Tool qualifications (desirable)

Experience Required:

  • Experienced tester with knowledge of full testing lifecycle
  • Experience of working in a customer-focused IT organisation.
  • Experience of delivering excellent service to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Evidence of an understanding of functional and non-functional testing standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, enthusiastic, and committed to testing
  • Ability to build strong relationships with a diverse range of technical stakeholders.
  • Work effectively in collaboration cross-functionally to achieve shared goals and deliver business objectives.
