Full-Time Test Lead

We are seeking an experienced Test Lead to join our dynamic team at a leading pharmaceutical company in Shanghai, China. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing testing activities across multiple projects, ensuring all software and systems meet the highest quality standards.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure thorough test planning, execution, and reporting, enabling successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the testing efforts for multiple projects, ensuring comprehensive test coverage for functional, integration, performance, and regression testing.
2. Develop detailed test plans, including test strategies, scope, objectives, and timelines to ensure the quality and integrity of deliverables.
3. Manage and mentor a team of testers, providing guidance and support throughout the testing lifecycle.
4. Work closely with project managers and developers to ensure test requirements are understood and integrated into the project timeline.
5. Perform hands-on testing activities when necessary, including test case creation, execution, and defect tracking.
6. Oversee the identification, logging, and tracking of defects, ensuring prompt resolution.
7. Develop and execute test scripts, ensuring they align with business requirements and functional specifications.
8. Maintain and report on test progress, defects, and issues, providing regular updates to project stakeholders.
9. Ensure that all testing activities are aligned with regulatory requirements and best practices, particularly within the pharmaceutical industry.
10. Coordinate UAT (User Acceptance Testing) processes, ensuring business users are adequately trained and involved in testing activities.
11. Ensure that all test deliverables are documented thoroughly, including test cases, test data, and test results.
12. Support continuous improvement by recommending process improvements and adopting new testing tools and techniques.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Pharmacy, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Test Lead or senior tester with 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, including manual and automated testing.
• Hands-on experience with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, ALM, TestRail).
• Experience with testing in regulated environments (preferably pharmaceuticals or life sciences).
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills with experience managing a team of testers.
• Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies and how they relate to testing.
• Familiarity with programming/scripting languages is a plus (e.g., SQL, Java, Python).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with technical and business stakeholders.
• Experience with validation testing and compliance (e.g., GxP) is preferred.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin (spoken and written).
