Full-Time Threat Hunting Researcher

Threat Hunt Analyst at Palo Alto Networks' Unit 42 Managed Services group.

Responsibilities:

• Proactively hunt for malicious activity within customer networks.
• Utilize advanced tools & methodologies to identify anomalies & potential threats.
• Develop new hunting techniques to stay ahead of evolving threats.
• Collaborate with Incident Response, Threat Intelligence, and customers to share findings & coordinate responses.
• Monitor Customer Communications: Actively monitor channels (emails, tickets, Zoom) to quickly address customer inquiries, ensuring prompt service.
• Incident Investigation: Provide initial support in incident investigations, gather necessary data, & escalate complex cases.
• Threat Inquiry Response: Stay informed about emerging threats to respond to customer inquiries, offering guidance & mitigation strategies.
• Technical Query Support: Assist customers with complex XDR queries for data analysis & incident investigation.
• Educational Support: Clearly explain technical aspects of threats & Palo Alto Networks XDR product to customers.
• Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (MDR, Threat Intelligence, Research) to improve offerings based on feedback.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of customer interactions & create incident reports & knowledge base articles.
• Continuous Learning: Engage in ongoing learning & training to enhance cybersecurity & threat hunting skills.

Required Experience:

• At least 4 years in SOC, IR, Hunting, or MDR teams
• Proficiency in EDR, SIEM, SOAR, and firewalls
• Understanding of attack trends
• Strong background in SQL (preferred)
