We are hiring a UX Designer for our client in Torrance, CA. This role can be hybrid or 100% remote.
The UX designer is needed to craft experiences that address both business and customer challenges. This role involves close collaboration with the UX team, product owners, developers, and other key stakeholders to deeply understand user needs and develop solutions across both the conceptual and detailed design phases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a unified experience across various platforms, including applications, websites, and in-vehicle interfaces.
- Design wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes to illustrate proposed user experiences.
- Create comprehensive user flow diagrams to map out potential user pathways.
- Work under the guidance of the UX Lead and other leaders.
- Utilize research and data to make informed, evidence-based design decisions.
- Contribute to defining the design strategy for different products and programs.
- Perform experience audits and help organize the information architecture.
- Conduct competitive and comparative analysis of user experiences.
- Assist in prioritizing areas for experience improvement.
- Develop and refine user personas, ensuring alignment of experiences with their needs and contexts.
- Participate in sprint reviews and user acceptance testing, working closely with development teams to ensure the final product matches the design.
- Apply frameworks like Jobs-to-be-Done to identify deeper user needs and opportunities.
- Deliver high-quality designs on time, across both conceptual and detailed levels.
- Present designs during reviews, including UX critiques, sprint evaluations, and business reviews.
- Advocate for user needs and encourage a culture of empathy within the team.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong skills in verbal and visual communication, including presentation and storytelling.
- Proficiency in design thinking, human-centered design methodologies, and experience conducting workshops.
- Familiarity with design tools such as Figma and Mural.
- Experience working within an agile framework.
- A growth-oriented mindset with curiosity and open-mindedness.
- Excellent time management and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain flexible and adapt to ambiguous situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or other advanced degree.
- Expertise in specific design areas such as UI/visual design, content design, and conversational design.
- Capability to plan and execute UX research.
- Experience in strategic design.
- Background in the automotive or energy sectors.
