Who we're looking for:
Graylog is growing and recruiting a Vice President of Engineering passionate about building technology and leading global engineering teams.
This dynamic, results-driven leader will oversee all engineering functions, ensuring the delivery of secure, scalable, and innovative security solutions.
The VP of Engineering will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align technical strategies with business goals, inspiring and leading the engineering organization across Graylog's entire portfolio (Graylog Open, Cloud, and Security).
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with product management and architecture on the strategic vision and roadmap.
- Lead the engineering organization (engineering managers, engineers, cloud engineers, site reliability engineers, and QA).
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and career development to engineering leaders.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders.
- Manage the software development lifecycle from design to release, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery and quality standards.
- Improve engineering team processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Implement and manage metrics and KPIs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
- Define technical guidelines for engineering teams.
- Evaluate new tools and standards.
- Manage with the Cloud Services Team.
- Manage the cloud architecture for cost optimization and customer experience.
- Hire and retain top engineering talent.
About You:
- Proven success as a senior engineering leader with years of progressive experience, ideally in security, including software development and DevOps.
- Extensive experience in software architecture, software design, data systems, and cloud technologies (Java, Cloud, centralized log management, compliance, and security).
- Solid understanding of the Graylog product or similar log management solutions.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills with a track record of building high-performing, diverse, and inclusive teams.
- Experience managing remote teams across multiple time zones.
- Experience in building proof of concepts and evaluating new technologies.
- Prior experience leading engineering teams in growth mode environments and in cyber security (Log Management, SIEM, API Security).
