Our client is a major IT service provider to banks in Germany. They manage millions of accounts and thousands of workstations. Their services include app development, mainframe support, consulting, and migration projects.
Project Overview: Join a team at a leading European financial services company focused on the 24/7 operating control center.
Team Information: Part of a team of over 40 Application Support Engineers. Team members are proactive and supportive.
Responsibilities:
- Optimize System Control: Ensure smooth operation of central systems (z/OS), subsystems, and server infrastructure (Linux, Unix, Windows), monitoring and controlling them in a 24/7 environment for high availability.
- Enhance Application Monitoring: Oversee and optimize control of distributed applications using system management tools for efficiency and uninterrupted operation across platforms.
- Streamline Event Management: Manage event processing aligning with support processes. Ensure all incidents are tracked and resolved to minimize downtime.
- Resolve Complex Issues: Handle escalated fault reports from 1st level support to quickly restore operation and minimize downtime.
- Strengthen Incident Recovery: Lead support for incident management, ensure quick recovery, thorough documentation, and timely tracking.
- Implement Process Improvements: Implement and document standardized changes and emergency drills. Ensure consistency and compliance for system updates and disaster recovery.
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in a similar support role.
- Good knowledge of operating systems (z/OS, Linux, Windows).
- Understanding of IT platforms and data center operations.
- Willingness to work in a 24/7 rotating shift schedule.
- Reliable, committed, team-oriented with adaptability to changing environments.
- Business fluency in German (C1) and good English skills (B2).
