SEAKR is seeking a motivated Component Engineer (EEE Parts Engineer) to support the selection, application, and testing of components for cutting-edge spacecraft electronics.
This role, located in the Product Assurance Department, reports to the PMP Manager.
Responsibilities include:
- Selecting EEE components based on space program requirements and maintaining Bills of Material (BOM).
- Generating Non-Standard Part Approval Requests (NSPAR) and supporting customer approval processes.
- Developing component qualification and up-screening requirements (including COTS components).
- Generating component qualification and screening reports.
- Creating specifications for new custom components.
- Performing pre-cap source inspections at supplier facilities.
- Reviewing and dispositioning component test data and destructive physical analysis results.
- Supporting component-level failure analyses and supplier corrective actions.
- Communicating effectively with management, suppliers, and internal/external customers.
- Understanding manufacturer technologies and process capabilities for various part types.
- Supporting project design reviews.
- Creating and maintaining part numbers, datasheets, and processing change requests in an ERP system.
- Travel up to 25% of the time.
- Acting as the company GIDEP representative, assessing and documenting published alerts for impact/disposition to piece parts and hardware.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field).
- 5+ years of EEE Parts Engineering experience in the Aerospace industry or a similar regulated field.
- Understanding of Military Performance Specifications (e.g., MIL-STD-883, etc.).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple program assignments.
- Experience with EEE pre-cap or final source inspections, or familiarity with part construction analyses.
- Applying engineering judgment to evaluate non-conforming parts.
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with ECSS, NASA, or other industry standards.
- Electronics manufacturing experience.
- Fast-paced, iterative design environment experience.
- EEE parts testing (screening, qualification, DPA, re-life, etc.), failure analysis, and non-conformance resolution experience.
- Experience with SOPs or work instructions.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Leadership, mentoring, or management experience (a plus).
- Experience with Connectors and/or Cabling assemblies (a plus).
