As a tech-enabled disruptor, data is the backbone of how Evolve is changing how guests interact with vacation rentals and how homeowners maximize rental income. Evolve’s Data & Analytics Engineering team ensures data is a trusted asset, available to all levels for innovation, visualization, analytics, reporting, data hygiene, and data science.
In this role, you will be a key contributor responsible for enabling the business with the right information, tools, and technologies to gain valuable insights and make data-driven decisions.
The Analytics Engineer is a technical role on the team and will play a key part in building, supporting, and optimizing data models.
What you’ll do
- Build data visualizations, supporting data models, data marts, star schemas, curated data sets, and ETL processes to enable the efficient achievement of business goals.
- Design, build, deploy, and manage ETL processes using SQL, Python, Snowflake scripting, and data transformation tools.
- Develop a deep understanding of the data you are working with and ensure data quality for reporting, dashboards, and analytics.
- Maintain and optimize Evolve’s cloud data platform, environment, and infrastructure by solving problems and tuning performance.
- Design and implement processes to automate monitoring on key company metrics.
- Assist in defining quality standards for ELT, SQL, Snowflake, dbt, and Tableau; documenting and training teammates.
- Provide self-service data transformation and visualization support.
- Partner with stakeholders to develop scalable solutions.
- Prioritize multiple tasks and projects, and clearly communicate progress and status.
What makes you a great fit
- 5+ years in a developer, architect, engineer, or DBA role working with large datasets
- SQL knowledge required
- Python experience preferred
- Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, Tableau, AWS experience preferred
- Git version control and Gitlab repository management experience
- Experience with enterprise ELT tools (Fivetran, dbt, Matillion) preferred
- Expertise with cloud-based data warehouses (Snowflake)
- Dimensional data models (star schema) for reports, dashboards, and data visualizations
- Ability to explain complex information to technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to support team members by sharing knowledge and problem-solving
