Job Details
We are seeking a remote Appian Business Analyst to play a critical role in developing and maintaining Appian applications. This includes gathering requirements, performing testing, and remediating issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to backlog refinements, and uphold best practices for Appian design and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with product owners and business analysts to understand requirements.
- Provide insights and recommendations to ensure user stories are clear and complete.
- Estimate effort and complexity for user stories and tasks during sprint planning.
- Design and build Appian capabilities, data records/models, and functionalities.
- Adhere to established design standards and best practices.
- Investigate and resolve issues related to Appian applications and integrations.
- Support testing efforts by creating test cases and identifying testing needs.
- Contribute to internal documentation and training materials.
- Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions with team members.
- Partner with UX/UI designers and QA engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
- Communicate effectively with diverse teams to ensure cohesive project delivery.
- Stay current on new Appian features, tools, and industry trends.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements and best practice adoption.
Competencies
- Strong understanding of Appian architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
- Proficiency in Appian SAIL, process modeling, and integration capabilities.
- Experience with relational databases, SQL, and web services (REST/SOAP).
- Familiarity with Agile and project management tools (Jira, MS Project, Visio, Word, Excel, SharePoint).
- Proven application of Waterfall, Agile Scrum, and Kanban methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
Job Requirements
- Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is required for Public Sector roles.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience.
- Certification: Appian Senior Developer certification (or higher).
- Testing Knowledge: Familiarity with Appian testing methodologies.
