Full-Time Application Engineer

We are currently looking for Application Engineer to join our growing team in one of the biggest European organizations in law enforcement.

Your tasks:

• Application installation, configuration and administration in production and non-production environments;
• Application monitoring, performance tuning and continuous improvement of the efficiency and quality of service;
• Applications support and maintenance activities such as incident, change, release and problem resolution;
• Writing and validating application procedures manuals, including troubleshooting guides, backup and restore plans;
• Automating administrative procedures for recurring system administration activities and provide installation and technical support documentation where required;
• Contributing to the structuring, maintenance and development of the technical knowledgebase supporting the ICT Operations activities;
• Reporting on application availability, performance, capacity and overall usage where required.

Qualifications

• Mandatory:
• Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 9 years of experience working as an IT professional in mid/large IT infrastructure environments, including deployment, support, and maintenance of applications;
• Working knowledge of English (level B2 or higher)
• 6+ years of experience as an IT professional in mid/large IT infrastructure environments, including deployment, support, and maintenance of applications
• 5+ years of experience in application administration
• 2+ years of experience with microservices, container orchestration, and container-based stacks (e.g., Docker or Kubernetes)
• 2+ years of experience administering and supporting Elasticsearch
• 5+ years of experience with enterprise Microsoft or Linux server solutions
• Good knowledge of deployment and administration of Elasticsearch clusters
• Good knowledge of microservices, container orchestration, and container-based stacks using Kubernetes, Helm charts, Docker, and Rancher
• Good knowledge of configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet, Ansible, Chocolatey)
• Good knowledge of shell and/or PowerShell scripting
• Good knowledge of ITIL processes, including incident, change, and release management
• Desirable Requirements:
• 2+ years of experience with Public or Hybrid Cloud services and solutions (e.g., Azure or AWS)
• Good knowledge of DEVOPS methodologies and tools
• Good knowledge of relational databases (e.g., MS SQL, PostgreSQL) and how they interact with applications
• Good knowledge of Kong API Gateway
• Good knowledge of Azure or AWS
• Certifications in any of the mentioned technologies
