Full-Time Associate Legal Counsel - Remote

Associate Legal Counsel will play a key role on a small, collaborative legal team and work cross-functionally across the business.

You'll report to the Senior Legal Counsel and manage a wide range of responsibilities, from NDAs and vendor contracts to internal policies and subpoena reviews.

Responsibilities Include:

1. Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts (vendor contracts, technology agreements, partnership agreements, and NDAs).
2. Evaluating software tools and services, particularly those with AI-related functionality.
3. Providing Legal oversight of vendor questionnaires and assisting with review of RFPs, RFIs, and other information requests from clients and prospects.
4. Responding to subpoenas, UCC lien notices, and similar third-party legal requests.
5. Maintaining and updating internal policies (UDAAP, Privacy and Security policies).
6. Managing consumer data requests and providing guidance for internal data privacy inquiries.
7. Handling ad hoc legal needs from HR (handbook updates and consulting agreements).
8. Supporting marketing projects (press releases, white papers, and campaigns).

Qualifications:

• JD from an accredited law school; licensed and in good standing in your state of residence.
• 2–3 years of legal experience (in-house or fintech/payments background a plus).
• Comfortable managing a high volume of diverse, detail-oriented workstreams.
• Strong communicator who can explain legal concepts clearly and concisely.
• Curious, collaborative, and comfortable working cross-functionally.
• Interest in technology, AI, privacy, security, and/or product-focused legal work.
• Ability to work independently, adapt quickly, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
