JOB SUMMARYWe are seeking a skilled Azure Cloud Operations Engineer to join our development team and take ownership of the infrastructure, performance, security, and compliance of our cloud-based applications hosted in both Azure Commercial and Azure Government environments.This role spans the management of Azure services, cloud cost optimization, regulatory compliance, and support for DevOps pipelines. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced in securing and maintaining highly available systems that serve federal and commercial clients.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor and manage Azure cloud environments and services including, but not limited to, VMs, App Services, Redis, Service Bus, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and storage accounts.
- Optimize performance, scalability, and cost across both single-tenant and multi-tenant deployments.
- Implement and enforce security best practices; monitor and respond to vulnerabilities and incidents.
- Ensure and maintain compliance with current standards (e.g., SOC2) and support the implementation of future frameworks (e.g. FedRamp).
- Support CI/CD processes in Azure DevOps, including both creation and maintenance of pipelines.
- Execute application deployments as part of the release process, following established schedules and procedures.
- Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to ensure system reliability, scalability, and secure configuration.
- Maintain accurate documentation for infrastructure, processes, and compliance requirements.
- Occasionally provide after-hours support for critical deployments or incident resolution.
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONSBachelor's Degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Primary Skills
- U.S. Citizenship and U.S. residency required.
- 3–5+ years of Azure experience, including at least 1–2 years working in Azure Government environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with core Azure services and Azure governance tools.
- Solid knowledge of cloud security and compliance practices in regulated environments.
- Experience working with .NET-based applications in Azure environments.
- Proficiency with scripting and infrastructure-as-code tools (PowerShell, ARM/Bicep, or Terraform).
- Familiarity with Redis, Azure Service Bus, Azure Functions, and Logic Apps.
- Experience supporting both single-tenant and multi-tenant architectures.
Preferred Skills
- Azure Administrator or Azure DevOps Engineer certifications.
- Experience with SOC2 audits, FedRAMP compliance, or other regulatory frameworks.
- Background in supporting applications in federal or government contractor settings.
