Mozilla Foundation is seeking a Communications Director.
The role involves leading external communications, overseeing various aspects like blog posts, newsletters, multimedia campaigns (spanning press, creators, social media, events), and crisis response. Managing internal communications and supporting content strategy for Mozilla Festival are also key duties.
The Communications Director will also manage annual communications planning and team development.
Responsibilities:
- Media Relations & PR: Cultivate a strong media presence, pitch coverage, monitor news, and respond appropriately. Explore new formats/partnerships for innovation.
- Campaigns & Content Strategy: Design and implement content strategy, create/enforce style guidelines, supervise and maintain communications materials (briefing documents, plans, speeches, pitches, etc.). Support website, marketing, and communities in publishing strategies.
- Annual Planning & Team Development: Structure team operations, manage/develop junior staff, and consult with internal clients.
