Job Details

American Technology Services, Inc. (ATS) is a Managed Services Provider (MSP) seeking a talented engineer proficient in client interaction.

This is a client-facing role focused on fostering strong client relationships while delivering technical expertise. This involves addressing technical challenges and providing strategic guidance for client business objectives to build progressive partnerships.

Primary Technologies:

  • Microsoft Azure and other cloud IaaS solutions
  • Routers & routing protocols (Cisco/Meraki)
  • Firewalls and security concepts (IPsec VPNs, remote access VPNs)
  • Enterprise wireless technologies
  • VMware and other virtualization applications with shared storage (iSCSI)
  • Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Exchange, Azure and Linux
  • Dell and HP Workstation/Server Hardware

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with more than 5 years of equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of O365, Azure, Active Directory, Cisco, Windows Servers
  • Certifications from Microsoft, Cisco, VMware (or other relevant certifications) are beneficial
  • Experience in the Managed Services sector is a plus

  • Proven customer service and problem-solving skills, interacting directly with clients
  • Proficient analytical skills with strong verbal/written communication
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Ability to identify and document IT needs/vulnerabilities based on best practices
  • Service-oriented with the ability to build solid relationships and become a trusted advisor to clients
  • Gain and maintain awareness of client environment, culture, challenges, and areas for improvement
  • Assist end-users with new setup instructions/procedures

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site support for client network & infrastructure
  • Continuously analyze hardware, software, and network capabilities to recommend improvements
  • Consult with systems and users to gather needs/requirements to improve system efficiency
  • Assist on projects like infrastructure cloud migrations, network refreshes, and virtualization upgrades
  • Troubleshoot and analyze server/network systems
  • Multitask and manage competing priorities across multiple customers
  • Create and maintain client environment documentation
  • Familiar with backup solutions
  • Communicate effectively with end-users
  • Occasional after-hours dispatch may be required

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to travel to client site daily
  • Sitting for extended periods
  • Ability to move around in industrial/manufacturing locations
  • Dexterity for computer/component operation
