What will the role involve?

Organize and manage publishing fresh, engaging, and accurate content for SurreyLive. Brief reporters for content (words, pictures, video, data, interactives) to maximize audience engagement. Launch live blogs for major stories, maintain momentum. Ensure website and social media content aligns with audience data and trends. Grow audience, focus on newsletters and engaging content. Support team daily, weekly, monthly (1:1s, team briefings, career development, promotions). Involve weekend work (typically 1 in every 3) and evening work. Requires a flexible approach.

Who are we looking for?

Experienced NCTJ or equivalent senior journalist with strong media law knowledge. Proven track record of telling engaging stories, passion for digital storytelling. Sharp news sense, excellent accuracy, attention to detail. Supportive people manager, ability to guide and encourage team. Social media savvy, understanding of SEO, search, social, and digital audience behavior. Create and edit accurate copy quickly, meeting deadlines.
