What will the role involve?

Organize and manage the publishing of fresh, engaging, and accurate content for KentLive. Brief your team of reporters to deliver great content (words, pictures, video, data, interactives) to maximize audience engagement. Launch live blogs for big stories and maintain momentum. Ensure website and social media channels have compelling content aligned with audience data and trends. Grow the loyal audience, focusing on newsletters and engaging content. Support and guide your team daily, weekly, and monthly (1:1s, team briefings, career development, promotions). The role involves weekend work (typically 1 in 3) and evening work; therefore, a flexible approach is required.

Who are we looking for?

Experienced NCTJ or equivalent senior qualified journalist with exceptional media law knowledge. Proven track record of telling engaging stories to large audiences with a passion for digital storytelling. Possess a sharp news sense, excellent accuracy, and attention to detail. Supportive people manager, able to guide and encourage team members. Social media savvy with excellent understanding of SEO, search, social, and digital audience behaviour. Create and edit accurate copy quickly, meeting deadlines easily.
