Part-Time Contributing Faculty DNP (Remote)

GENERAL SUMMARY: The School of Nursing seeks Contributing (Part-Time) faculty for the DNP program with experience teaching at the graduate level in an online environment and mentoring doctoral students. A Contributing (Part-Time) academic faculty member reports to the Academic Program Coordinator and closely works with Academic Coordinators, academic advising, and administrative staff within the School of Nursing.

• Serve as committee chair, or faculty advisor and/or second member of doctoral project study committees.

What to expect as a Walden faculty member:

Faculty members educate students by effectively and proficiently using online technology and resources. Knowledge, information, feedback, and critique are shared in thoughtful, well-written, and timely communications, with respect for students, faculty, Walden University, and the discipline.

Faculty members adhere to all Walden University Faculty expectations, clearly outlined at the start of employment.

Training: All new faculty receive specific training from Walden University in teaching techniques, electronic learning platforms, school/college policies, procedures, and degree programs, Walden University culture, assessment of academic integrity (including Turnitin.com), and DNP project supervision.

Course Teaching/Availability: Faculty members are assigned a course taught using the CANVAS platform and are responsible for student interaction within this platform. Discussion boards are open 24/7. Postings must be completed timely according to the Faculty Handbook.

External Requirements:

• Classroom presence a minimum of 4 days per week.
• Responses to student questions posted within 48 hours.

Licensing/Certification: Faculty members must be credentialed, possess an earned degree from an accredited institution, may be expected to be licensed/license-eligible for specific programs, maintain licenses and certifications, and maintain currency with research.

Tools/Technical Skills: Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily. Performance evaluated based on essential function performance. Reasonable accommodations made for individuals with disabilities.

Requirements:

• Earned Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) and a DNP (preferably in Nursing or closely related field) from an accredited institution.
• Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner certification or executive leadership experience preferred.
• Expertise in areas of scholarship, theory, and nursing education.
• Online teaching experience preferred.
• Commitment to advocating for student learning and development needs.
• Excellent communication, team, and human relations skills.
• Current, active, and unrestricted RN licensure in one of the 50 US states.

Compensation:

Graduate Course Instruction: $1,560 - $4,080 per Quarter or Semester, depending on course type and length.
Undergraduate Course Instruction: $700 - $2,200 per quarter, depending on course type and length.

Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law (course type, experience, training, geographic location, licensure/certifications, market factors, departmental budgets, and responsibility).

Walden offers dissertation/doctoral study committee chair positions, research reviewing, and dissertation/doctoral study mentoring for contributing faculty.
