What to expect as a Walden Contributing Faculty
As a Walden Contributing Faculty you will instruct Walden University students using online technology and practicum environments. Knowledge, information, feedback, and critique are shared thoughtfully, carefully, and timely.
This is accomplished in a respectful environment that considers students, instructors, Walden University, and the discipline.
All Walden Faculty adhere to set expectations, outlined at the start of employment.
Training: New faculty receive Walden University training on online teaching techniques, including:
- Electronic learning platform use
- School/College policies, procedures, and degree programs
- Walden University culture integration
- Assessment of student academic integrity
Requirements:
- Earned Doctorate in Nursing (DNP) from accredited institution with demonstrated coursework in psychiatric mental health nursing.
- Current RN and APRN license in one of the 50 US states.
- Minimum of one year experience teaching or precepting.
- National certification in PMHNP
- Two years clinical/practical experience as a PMHNP
- Excellent oral and written communication, leadership, team, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Licensure: Walden Faculty must maintain licenses and certifications. All NP faculty must obtain RN and APRN licensure in Minnesota and demonstrate current advanced practice certification.
Additional Requirements:
- Commitment to supporting the learning and development of students in a distance learning environment.
Compensation:
Graduate Course Instruction: $1,560 - $4,080 per Quarter or Semester.
Undergraduate Course Instruction: $700 - $2,200 per quarter.
Actual pay may adjust based on job-related factors allowed by law.
