As a Cyber Security Engineer at Ping Identity, you will be involved with every facet of our enterprise systems, including our Software-as-a-Service business areas. You will be responsible for helping to build out and deploy security automation, harden security configuration, provide incident response, and more within the Cyber Security Engineering team. Cyber Security Engineers are expected to have a broad understanding of security principles, and be able to communicate and support other teams in the design and deployment of security and robust systems. This position would be well suited to an experienced Security Operations Centre (SoC) Analyst or Site Reliability Engineer looking to transition into Security Engineering.
What you'll do:
- Design, develop, and implement incident response playbooks
- Perform incident response and coordination
- Support in the assessment of system design and change
- Support in detection engineering
- Design, develop, and implement engineered solutions that are reliable and maintainable
Note: this position is part of a weekly on-call rotation.
What you bring:
- Experience with automation in Security Orchestration and Automation Tooling (Tines, Splunk SOAR, Puppet, Terraform), as well as bespoke scripting automation.
- Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems. Ideally, Google Chronicle and YARA-L.
- Strong understanding of Cloud Security (AWS or GCP preferred).
- Understanding of container technologies like Kubernetes and Docker.
- Experience deploying and utilizing Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) tools.
- Understanding of offensive security capabilities and processes (E.g.: MITRE and Kill Chain)
- Understanding of defensive security capabilities and processes, such as NIST.
You have an advantage if:
- You have experience working as a security incident responder
- You have programming experience, ideally Go.
Salary Range: $79,500-$95,344
In accordance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB 19-085) the approximate compensation range for this role in Colorado is listed above. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors, such as knowledge, skills, and abilities.
