Job Summary:
We are looking for a Credit Analyst who will deliver actionable insights through ad hoc portfolio analysis, management reporting, dashboarding, and cohort analysis. Your work will directly influence commercial strategy, support valuation, and provide senior leadership with the clarity to make high-impact decisions. This is a hands-on, data-driven role at the heart of our lending business, ideal for someone who thrives on turning data into commercial value. You will join our growing Data team, with your focus dedicated to work with the Credit business unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform ad hoc analysis of lending portfolio performance, customer behaviour, and risk drivers.
- Build and maintain management dashboards and regular portfolio performance reports.
- Conduct cohort analysis to inform valuation, product development, and credit strategy decisions.
- Identify trends, emerging risks, and new business opportunities using data-driven insights.
- Support strategic projects with deep-dive analytics and clear presentation of findings.
- Collaborate with decision science, underwriting, finance, and commercial teams to translate analysis into business actions.
- Ensure reporting and analysis comply with internal and regulatory standards (FCA, CONC)
Requirements:
- 1–3 years' experience as a credit analyst, portfolio analyst, or similar role within UK consumer lending, fintech, or financial services
- Strong proficiency in SQL & Python, experience with cloud data warehouses and data transformation frameworks like dbt.
- Ability to perform cohort analysis and support valuation or financial modelling.
- Good understanding of credit portfolio KPIs and risk metrics.
- Experience working with credit bureau data or credit performance datasets.
- Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to interpret and present complex data clearly.
- Proactive, commercially minded, and able to work independently to deadlines
