Position Overview: As a Data Conversion Engineer I at SpryPoint you will support the transformation and migration of utility billing data from legacy systems into our modern utility and billing platform. You will work with the Data Conversion team to extract, transform, and load (ETL) customer data, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, reliability, and quality. This role offers opportunities for collaboration, learning best practices, and contributing to process improvements. It's ideal for someone early in their data engineering career seeking to build strong foundations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage ETL migration processes across multiple concurrent projects.
- Develop and maintain efficient extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) scripts using Python, SQL, and related tools.
- Implement feedback-driven improvements to enhance data conversion quality and performance.
- Actively contribute to data quality assurance processes and review datasets.
- Conduct analysis and profiling of source database schemas to facilitate data extraction and migration.
- Collaborate with the Client Experience team to integrate client data and enable timely go-live processes.
- Work with the Data Conversion team to establish and promote best practices, create documentation, and drive continuous improvement.
- Actively participate in daily standups and weekly review sessions.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Development experience with Python and pandas.
- Development experience with SQL and relational databases.
- Experience in data migration, ETL processes, scripting, and automation.
- Understanding of system design and analysis.
- A creative approach to problem-solving and learning.
