About the Role: We are looking for a Data Lead to build and lead our data team from the ground up. This role greatly impacts how we underwrite our customers, helping us make data-driven decisions and optimizing data infrastructure to support critical business decisions. As data lead, you will lay the foundation for a high-performing team, making an immediate impact while setting the stage for future growth.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design, implement, and maintain a robust data infrastructure using modern tools like DBT, Snowflake, and ETL frameworks.
2. Ensure data accuracy, availability, and security across all systems.
3. Define and implement key underwriting performance metrics (e.g., default rates and approval times).
4. Run experiments to optimize underwriting processes and measure their impact.
5. Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Operations to understand workflows and suggest changes to improve data visibility and usability.
6. Communicate complex data insights to stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making.
7. Address data bottlenecks impacting SWE teams.
8. Lay the groundwork for a scalable data team, mentoring and guiding new hires as the team grows.
9. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and data-driven decision-making.

Who We're Looking For:

• Held a Data Lead, Senior Data Engineer, or Senior Data Scientist role.
• Previous experience in Startups and Fintechs.
• Hands-on experience with setting up and scaling data infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and modern data tools, including DBT, Snowflake, Fivetran, Hightouch, and other ETL/reverse ETL tools
• Have strong data engineering skills, including data pipeline creation and maintenance.
