Serve as the primary point of contact for diverse business stakeholders, understanding their needs and translating them into a clear, prioritized product backlog for multiple data initiatives.
Manage the delivery schedule and scope across various data initiatives, each with its own budget, while effectively balancing the limited capacity of the delivery team.
Drive product strategy and roadmap, making data-driven decisions on feature prioritization to maximize return on investment (ROI).
Directly lead, mentor, and manage a team of Business Analysts (1-3 BAs), overseeing requirements gathering, documentation, and quality assurance activities.
Work closely with and coordinate the efforts of the Tech Lead (who operates outside the core development team), ensuring alignment between technical architecture and business goals.
Coordinate and manage the performance-based vendor development team (including Senior Developers) to ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of contracted story points per sprint.
- Apply strong knowledge of data principles, data analysis, and business intelligence to define effective data product solutions.
- Leverage proficiency in SQL for data investigation, validation, and requirements refinement.
- Utilize foundational knowledge of modern data tools, specifically Databricks (or similar data engineering/lakehouse platforms) and Power BI (or similar visualization/reporting tools) to guide the team.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role, specifically within data, analytics, or business intelligence (BI) domains.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
- Exceptional stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Solid technical understanding of data concepts, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Expertise in SQL is mandatory.
- Basic working knowledge of Databricks and Power BI is required.
- Experience managing external vendors and performance-based contracts is a significant plus.
