Full-Time Database & Microsoft Server Expert

Your tasks:

1. Database Administration:
   • Manage, install, and configure SQL Server instances (on-premises and Azure SQL)
   • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery (Always On, backup, and restore strategies)
2. Performance Tuning and Optimization:
   • Analyze and optimize queries, indexes, and database structures
   • Monitor and improve system performance (I/O, CPU, memory)
3. Security Management:
   • Manage user roles and implement access policies
   • Encrypt and secure sensitive data in compliance with data protection regulations
4. Automation and Scripting:
   • Develop PowerShell scripts for backup, monitoring, and maintenance
   • Utilize SQL Server Agent and automation tools
5. Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
   • Proactive monitoring using tools like Azure Monitor, SQL Server Profiler, or Query Store
   • Diagnose and resolve performance issues and system crashes
6. Database Migration:
   • Plan and execute database migrations (e.g., to Azure SQL)
   • Perform version upgrades and schema adjustments
7. Reporting:
   • Create dashboards and reports using SSRS and Power BI
8. Support for Development Projects:
   • Collaborate with software developers to optimize database usage
9. Support in developing our Microsoft Server Infrastructure
   • Testing new releases of Microsoft Server
   • planning the upgrade process
   • create policies for Microsoft Servers

Education: University Degree

Technical Expertise

Database:

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (2016 or later, ideally Azure SQL)
• Experience with high availability solutions (Always On, Clustering)
• Familiarity with Azure Data Services (Azure SQL Database, Managed Instances)
• Experience with other Databases like Oracle, MySQL

Programming and Scripting:

• Proficiency in T-SQL and PowerShell
• Basic knowledge of C# or Python is a plus

Security Awareness:

• Experience with database encryption and security models

Performance Optimization:

• Knowledge of query tuning and resource optimization

Analytical Skills:

• Ability to quickly identify and resolve complex problems

Communication and Teamwork:

• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly
• Close collaboration with developers and infrastructure teams

Licensing Expertise:

• Overview and knowledge about licensing models

Windows Server General

• very good experience with Microsoft Server Operating Systems
• good knowledge in Server hardening and Group Policies
