Full-Time Dean, Student Performance and Progress

Opportunity at a GlanceThis position is responsible for providing leadership, support, and direction for services, research, staff, and/or resources of Walden University.

Responsibilities

1. The Dean of Student Progress and Success leads the Office of Academic Performance.
2. Ensures Walden leaders, faculty, and staff are able to make data-driven decisions and foster a strong learning and working environment.
3. Identifies and addresses barriers, bridges gaps, connects people, builds a caring community, and assesses outcomes.
4. Provides oversight for institutional research and analytics to deliver an exceptional student experience.
5. Provides oversight for leaders responsible for institutional effectiveness, inclusive teaching/learning, student retention, and belonging.
6. Works collaboratively with executives and leaders to achieve university strategic goals and provide intelligence or lead transformation initiatives.
7. Works collaboratively with other leaders to advance the mission and strategic goals.
8. Reports to the Vice Provost.
9. Strategic Leadership in Student Success
10. Develops and implements a data-driven student success strategy that enhances student retention and persistence from the first year through graduation.
11. Tracks retention, persistence, and completion by cohort and general student population.
12. Identifies student success gaps and facilitates targeted interventions.
13. Analyzes and reports retention data to the leadership team.
14. Works across the organization to leverage best practices and increase institutional knowledge.
15. Student Engagement, Retention, and Persistence Initiatives
16. Leads the development and execution of retention programs.
17. Collaborates with faculty to foster belonging and academic engagement.
18. Works with university partners for a cohesive and supportive student experience.
19. Oversees holistic institutional assessment.
20. Data-Driven Decision Making and Reporting
21. Utilizes data analytics to assess the impact of initiatives.
22. Prepares regular reports on student success metrics.
23. Uses predictive analytics to identify and prioritize student needs.
24. Provides support and resources for Interdisciplinary Research Labs.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Earned doctorate preferred.
• Record of excellence in research publication and presentations
• Experience in mentoring faculty and students
• Experience in doctoral education preferred
• Experience developing faculty and student support solutions preferred
• Editorial and peer reviewer experience preferred
• Experience writing grants and working with foundations preferred
• Excellent leadership, communication, teamwork, and human relations skills
• Ability to work with diverse backgrounds in a collaborative manner
• Ability to creatively solve problems
• Ability to write effectively in business and academic styles
• Experience with distance learning preferred
• Some travel required

Salary Range

• $97,253.99 to $175,761.85
