Full-Time Digital Content Reporter

Metroland is seeking a versatile, creative, and enterprising reporter for a fast-paced environment. The role requires delivering news effectively and efficiently to audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize digital listening tools to understand audience needs.
• Collaborate with editors on content strategies.
• Maintain adherence to Metroland's journalistic principles and quality standards.
• Create various content formats (explainers, quick hits, lists, image-driven stories, matchers, videos) for multiple platforms.
• Combine reporting from various Metroland sources to create engaging narratives.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Diploma/degree in Journalism or related field.
• 2-5 years' experience in a news outlet or similar role.
• Strong news judgment and writing/storytelling skills.
• Experience with deadlines and ability to thrive in a demanding environment.
• Understanding of social media platforms, SEO, and online best practices.
• Self-starter with ability to generate ideas and collaborate.
• Knowledge of Canadian Press style.

Compensation:

Salary range: $37,850.13 - $56,829.84
