Director of Revenue Accounting
Overview: Oversees financial accuracy and operational efficiency for agency business, focusing on revenue recognition, project accounting, and profitability. Leads finance department and cross-functional teams.
- Manages monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue close processes for accurate revenue recognition.
- Develops and implements procedures for revenue recognition (ASC 606) for complex contracts.
- Demonstrates strong project accounting knowledge for Time and Materials, and Fixed Fee contracts.
- Unbilled and Deferred Revenue Management
- Manages the entire lifecycle of unbilled and deferred revenue (contract assets/liabilities).
- Develops policies to monitor and assess balance sheet balances.
- Cost of Revenue Accounting & Analysis
- Oversees cost of revenue accounting and analysis to ensure accuracy.
- Works with time management systems to track time properly and allocate project costs.
- Partners with Account and Project Management teams to optimize invoicing.
- Supervises and delegates responsibilities to project accounting staff.
- Elevates complex accounting issues to accounting leadership.
- Reviews, improves, and optimizes legacy processes.
- Documents internal work policies and procedures.
- Maintains relationships with shareholders and business partners.
- Drives continuous improvement initiatives by reducing manual work and enhancing/automating systems.
- Analyzes financial data and presents it to senior finance members and business partners.
- Manages, develops, and retains finance staff, including training.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in a similar role
- Strong ability to manage monthly revenue recognition processes
- Strong understanding of customer contracts for revenue recognition
- Team player
- Direct company-wide initiatives
Proficiency:
- Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
- Accounting software
Preferred Qualifications:
- Senior Manager experience
- Strong understanding of project accounting, corporate finance, and performance measures
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Microsoft Suite and business software proficiency
- Knowledge of GAAP, ASC 606, financial forecasting, accounting principles, and financial data analysis
- CPA License
- Prior experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O
Compensation: $123,000 - $166,500 (US only)
