Full-Time Director, Software Engineering (Individual Contributor)

Director, Software Engineering (Individual Contributor) may work remotely and report to our Herndon, VA HQ.

• Design & architect next-gen tech solutions.
• Propose & present solutions to stakeholders.
• Author docs & diagrams to communicate ideas.
• Partner w/ Product, Design, Architecture Leads.
• Optimize solution delivery according to industry best practices.
• Mentor, guide & coach to strengthen tech expertise.
• Continuously improve software engineering & software delivery practices.
• Foster env of innovation.
• Create culture where teams lead craftsmanship, availability, resilience, & scalability of their solutions.
• Help elevate company brand as an innovative company.
• Lead R&D projects that have potential to disrupt industry.
• Support diverse product portfolios to gain deep understanding of customer & industry needs.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s in Comp Sci, IT, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10 yrs relevant exp in development roles with complex IT applications.
• 10 years exp in influencing and implementing Best-in-Class design and engineering excellence practices, Service Oriented Architecture, Continuous Integration, and Delivery Environment.
• 7 years exp in designing and building enterprise platform solutions; programming language (Java, Python, or Rust).
• 5 years exp in Agile software development.
• 4 years exp in NoSQL databases (MongoDB or GraphDB), Big data frameworks, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, AWS tools and services, Airline industry pricing data SME.
• 3 years exp in Airline industry content distribution SME.
