District Systems Engineer, Commercial is a key role in the sales team, acting as a technical advisor to customers. You will support commercial sales teams with technical pre-sales, ensuring successful deployments and maximizing business value.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with sales teams to exceed sales quotas via strategic account plans.
- Position, demonstrate, and design security architectures across the Palo Alto Networks portfolio based on customer needs (including network, security operations, and cloud security).
- Drive customer adoption of the Palo Alto Networks platform for enhanced security, operational efficiency, and business flexibility.
- Conduct technical discovery, aligning solutions to customer requirements.
- Lead proof-of-concept engagements, workshops, and product demos.
- Collaborate with Professional Services, Customer Success, and Specialist teams.
- Effectively communicate complex security concepts to various stakeholders.
- Orchestrate supporting resources to drive customer success.
- Promote end-to-end solutions, maximizing customer security posture and business value.
- Stay updated on industry trends and security threats.
- Continuously develop technical expertise and contribute to the District Systems Engineer community.
- Demonstrate diverse technical knowledge in SOC, Cloud, Networking, and NetSec, with emphasis on SOC and Cloud.
- Become a technical leader with potential to become a Palo Alto Networks portfolio architect.
- Balance technical acumen with strategic thinking, acting as a technical architect and strategic leader.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Deeply understand the competitive landscape in your area of expertise.
- Design and architect large, complex environments, leveraging your technical domain expertise.
- Develop strong business acumen, with potential for CTO/CIO/CISO-level leadership.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% within the assigned district.
- Serve as a role model and mentor for inside Systems Engineers.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of pre-sales, sales engineering, or related experience.
- Strong understanding of data networking, security architectures, and modern cloud computing.
- Experience delivering cybersecurity solutions aligning with customer business initiatives.
- Ability to influence and gain buy-in from key stakeholders.
- Strong technical presentation, workshop, and proof-of-concept delivery skills.
- Expertise in designing, implementing, or managing security solutions (Network Security, SASE, SaaS, CNAPP, or SOC Transformation).
- Experience collaborating with Customer Support.
- Background in complex sales cycles.
Compensation:
$198,000 - $273,000/YR (base salary + commission).
