Job Details
We are looking for an Editor with knowledge of sports and proficiency in the Azerbaijani language. This is a hands-on editorial role focused on reviewing, editing, and creating engaging sports content.
Responsibilities
- Cover sports news, updates, and trending topics in Azerbaijani, adapting content for the local audience
- Review and edit AI-generated sports content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency
- Verify facts, scores, names, and events to ensure reliability and trustworthiness of publications
- Maintain a clear and engaging writing style that resonates with sports fans
- Ensure content structure, readability, and uniqueness before publication
- Collaborate with content and editorial teams to deliver timely updates and fresh stories
- Stay up to date with sports news, tournaments, leagues, and esports events
Requirements
- Proficiency in Azerbaijani language (spoken and written) – mandatory
- Interest in and knowledge of sports (football, tennis, esports, etc.)
- Experience in content writing, journalism, or editorial work
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to fact-check
- Strong writing and editing skills with a focus on clarity and structure
Nice to Have
- Previous experience writing sports content
- Familiarity with sports betting/iGaming content
- Understanding of content performance metrics (engagement, reach, readership)
- Experience working with CMS platforms or editorial tools
