Core Objective: The Electrical Engineer delivers project solutions and on-site electrical commissioning based on existing engineering standards. Applying standardized solutions meets project specifications, ensuring design and implementation align with predefined guidelines.
The Electrical Engineer creates and modifies electrical diagrams for as-built documentation, accurately reflecting final installations.
Focuses on standardized solutions, collaborating with other engineering functions for deviations or complex issues.
Customers: End users throughout the United States and Canada. Works with leading integrators as Sales partners.
As our ELECTRICAL CONTROLS ENGINEER, you…
- Support electrical commissioning by sharing expertise on final installations and system integrations.
- Support creation of functional description specifications regarding electrical equipment installations and control system commissioning.
- Draft documentation such as SOPs and contribute to creating manuals.
- Create schematics and network diagrams.
- Design control algorithms and safety systems.
- Test and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems and processes.
- Source external vendors for materials.
- Contribute to risk assessment documents identifying system hazards.
- Contribute to mechanical system layout drawings regarding electrical and control specifications, including cable routing.
- Contribute to development of test plans alongside the Commissioning Team.
- Make Full Load Amps calculations.
- Ensure UL listed components are selected and cabinets are assembled compliant to standards, including UL508A, NEC, and NFPA79 knowledge.
- Be present on-site at First Power Up to ensure system functionality after rack installation and prior to robot commissioning.
- Be present on-site during final commissioning stages to prepare the Movu system for handover to end-customers.
- Perform Site Acceptance Testing on electrical perspective.
- Maintain control over as-built documentation on the electrical design.
Technical Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automation, Robotics, Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Experience with automation controls, monitoring systems, safety area scanners, and safety controllers.
- Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
- Proficient in 2D CAD software for electrical diagrams/schematics. Experience with 3D CAD is a plus.
- Knowledge of UL508 law.
- Experience with ePlan or AutoCAD Electrical is desirable.
Practical Experience:
- Reside in a location easily commutable to Romeoville, IL office, or near a major airport (ideally EST or CST time zone).
- Willing and able to travel to customer sites (50%, reducing to 30% over time) throughout the United States and occasionally Canada. Travel typically no longer than 2 weeks at a time.
- Travel to Belgium headquarters for onboarding and training (no more than 2 weeks at a time).
- Morning work hours are preferred for collaboration with European colleagues.
