As an Operations Engineer, your main responsibilities will be:
Support the Asset Management Function within Statkraft Ireland including dealing with internal and external stakeholders and always upholding the highest standards when dealing with Renewable Assets.
Attend site locations monthly and on an ad hoc basis across Ireland and the UK to perform site inspections of the Wind Farm Sites
Complete annual Wind Turbine Inspections including regular climbing of turbines
Liaise with outsourced Operations & Maintenance vendors to ensure contracts are effectively managed and the services are delivered on time and to the right standard.
Support the Operational Controller Function while in the office (including part taking in on-call rota)
Monitor and ensure optimal technical performance and analysis of wind assets
Support the Technical Report Writer for Technical Queries regarding Wind Farm Sites
Responsible for the Scheduling of Substation HV Maintenance and maintaining good relations with the relevant system operators to help maintain uptime of assets
Ensure operating assets are grid code compliant and that environment and planning obligations are strictly adhered to
Develop relationships with third party clients/ technicians/ engineers and contractors. The relationship will need to be one of trust and efficiency to ensure the ongoing management of safety for all those attending windfarm sites at remote locations.
Liaise with Landowners, Neighbours & Local Community Groups regarding Queries & Funding Requests
Application of quality standards to Asset Operations (i.e., ISO9001, OSHAS18001, ISO14001)
Interface and communicate with engineers, technicians, and contractors. Coordinate with ESB, Eirgrid and National Grid.
Comply with Wind Turbine Safety Rules and wind farm Safety Management
Deliver services within the agreed budget. Contribute to overall team targets and KPIs
Exercise compliance within a safe work environment for all assets managed
Work closely with a small team within the asset management function. Play an integral role in Asset performance optimization
Responsible for fault analysis and interrogation as required.
Relevant third level qualification (e.g., mechanical, electrical, renewable energy, automation engineering) or relevant trade qualification & experience.
Minimum 3 years previous experience of working in an operations or maintenance role, ideally in an energy related company.
Applicants must hold a full clean driving licence as work is site based with flexibility to travel and remotely monitor windfarms outside normal hours as and when is needed.
Excellent analytical skills and reporting skills: being able to identify and analyse problems and potential improvements and propose/implement solutions.
Demonstrate the ability to perform in and be challenged by a team-based environment. Ability to work autonomously and on own initiative.
A High Voltage Electrical Switching qualification is desireable but not essential, full training will be provided.
Capability to work at heights and demonstrate full fitness to climb and work in wind turbines. Wind Turbine Safety Rules training is perferable
A strong commercial focus on contract delivery and plant availability
Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills. Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
