Job Details
Position SummaryResponsible for installation, testing, analyzing, maintaining, repairing and training of Syntegon packaging equipment at customer sites. Focus on control platforms. Aim to provide excellent technical customer service and complete customer satisfaction.
Field Service WorkExecute equipment installations, repairs, and training at customer sites, ensuring optimal machine performance and customer satisfaction.
Technical ProficiencyStay current with control software (e.g., Allen Bradley) and PLC-equipped machinery through ongoing training.
Cross-Functional CollaborationSupport Product, Project, Sales, Assembly, and Quality Control teams throughout the machine lifecycle from design reviews to final acceptance testing.
Customer & Internal SupportProvide technical assistance to customers and internal departments, including troubleshooting, software updates, and control system upgrades.
TrainingTrain customers and internal personnel on equipment operation, maintenance, and safety, with a focus on controls and robotics systems.
Travel RequirementsTravel frequently (up to 90%) to customer sites. Must be near a major airport; comply with safety, background, and drug/alcohol testing requirements.
Basic Requirements
- Electrical Engineering degree or 2+ years of vocational training in Electromechanical Systems
- Minimum of 3+ years in the Packaging industry involved in designing, installing, and troubleshooting PLC and motion control software and hardware
- Advanced mechanical, electrical, and software skills
- Proficiency in operating controls systems of equipment (Allen Bradley, CTC, Moeller, Siemens, PLC, PMAC, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience with ladder logic and other machine control software and hardware
- Proficiency in robotic vision systems, software, and hardware configurations
- Strong customer service focus, ability to assure customer confidence
- Strong computer skills (MS Office), oral and written communication, time management, and independent work capabilities
