Position Overview:As a Field Service Engineer, you will deliver high-quality service to ensure enhanced machine performance and excellent customer experience. We seek a hands-on, presentable, and customer-focused individual. Field Service Engineers are team players, think critically, take initiative, and demonstrate grit. They work independently and collaboratively to ensure solutions are delivered, installed, and maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure machines meet customer expectations.
- React to field issues promptly and resolve them or inform the customer.
- Solve problems for operational/mechanical efficiency.
- Troubleshoot machine issues to resolution.
- Conduct preventative maintenance (pre/post-season servicing) to improve machine performance.
- Remove/install mechanical components (shafts, bearings, belts, motors).
- Collaborate with engineering/R&D to improve procedures and documents.
- Maintain close relationships with sales leadership, providing updates and identifying sales opportunities/concerns.
- Maintain close relationship with the CCC team and provide regular updates.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities.
- Use company tools/equipment properly and ensure their upkeep.
- Assist with training of new Field Service Engineers (as requested).
About You:
- Preferred qualifications: Industrial trade qualification in relevant field (electrical, electronic, automation, mechanical, mechatronics, or industrial manufacturing) or equivalent degree/diploma.
- 2+ years' experience as a field service engineer or equivalent.
- Understanding of electronics and electrical assembly/wiring.
- Knowledge of PC and MS Office Suite.
- Ability to read/analyze/interpret technical documents.
- Problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills (for managers, clients).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Positive attitude and strong customer service mindset.
- Experience engaging with customers in a service delivery environment.
- PC building, repair, and diagnostic testing knowledge.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to frequently bend, kneel, stand, work in confined spaces.
- Work under pressure.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Full-color vision.
- No major food allergies.
Work Environment:
- Ability to work in food processing plants, farms, cold storage facilities, and outside.
- Willingness to work overtime.
Travel:
- Willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time in NZ, Australia, and other regions (valid driver's license, passport).
