The Field Service Technician/Technical Support Specialist is responsible for providing on-site technical service and support as well as remote technical assistance. Requires excellent technical skills, field service experience, and the flexibility to travel to customer sites as needed. The ideal candidate will be based within commuting distance of our Woodridge IL office.
Key Responsibilities:- Field Service Duties:
- Install, configure, and test systems at customer locations.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment and system issues on-site.
- Repair or replace faulty components.
- Provide training to customers.
- Maintain accurate service records.
- Respond promptly to service calls.
- Follow all safety protocols.
- Technical Support Duties:
- Provide remote technical support via phone and email.
- Troubleshoot system issues.
- Walk customers through problem-solving.
- Create knowledge base articles.
- Handling of customer warranty claims.
- Escalate issues to management when needed.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products.
Combines hands-on technical service with remote support capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background, outstanding customer service skills, and the flexibility to work both on-site and remotely.
Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training is preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Field Service Technician or in a related role
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as required
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Associate's degree or certification in a relevant technical field
- Prior experience with ELGA Labwater product lines
- Salesforce CRM experience
