Field Service Technician I - MKE
Responsibilities:
- Daily travel to locations in and around the Milwaukee area, including the airport.
- Meet daily service repair needs and drive customer satisfaction.
- Install, repair, and maintain equipment in the field; provide customer training.
- Document inspections, maintenance, repair work; submit paperwork timely.
- Order, install, and return parts; manage repair parts cycle time.
- Review logs for open issues, prepare formal reports to customers.
- Participate in service sales opportunities; assist with revenue programs.
- Ensure tools and test equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.
- Assess product/equipment performance; recommend modifications.
- Provide technical support to customers and service professionals.
- Possible participation in site surveys, pilot programs, and meetings.
- Possess basic technical knowledge on Trace and X-Ray technologies.
- Maintain clear and concise business communication.
- Establish and maintain relationships with senior FSEs and Product Managers.
- Control and minimize costs.
- Travel, overtime, and non-Monday-Friday work hours may be required.
- Comply with Company health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Comply with export control and security regulations.
- Perform other duties as required.
Education/Training: Associate's Degree/Related Trade Certification (electrical, electronic, mechanical)/Military Training. (Equivalence accepted through experience.) Computer literacy, MS Office Suite competency, and aptitude for specialized software.
Experience: Minimum 1-3 years experience in troubleshooting and field repair of electrical and electronic systems.
Knowledge/Skills: Excellent communication, customer focus, teamwork, responsiveness to customer issues, willingness to travel.
Background: Requires Sensitive Security Information (SSI) access and TSA vetting.
Physical/Mental Requirements: Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask. Excellent customer service skills. Self-motivated, reliable, and accountable. Excellent telephone skills. Ability to lift/carry 80 lbs., push/pull 200 lbs., and move/manipulate up to 1000 lbs. with assistance.
Work Environment: Customer locations (airports, correctional facilities, courthouses, cruise ships, etc.).
Additional Notes:
May require Sensitive Security Information (SSI) access, federal background investigation, and a US Personal Security Clearance.
SDI is a Federal Contractor and a drug-free workplace; drug testing may be required.
Hiring Salary Range: $42,000 - $98,000 per year.
