Field Service Technician I - SAN
Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities:
- Meet daily service repair needs and drive customer satisfaction.
- Install, repair, and maintain equipment in the field; provide customer training as required.
- Document all inspections, maintenance, repair work, and submit paperwork in a timely manner.
- Order, install, and return parts; manage repair parts cycle time.
- Review all logs for open issues and prepare formal reports to customers as necessary.
- Participate in service sales opportunities and assist with promoting and implementing revenue programs.
- Ensure tools and test equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.
- Assess product/equipment performance based on field support data; recommend modifications or improvements.
- Provide technical support to customers and other service professionals as required.
- May participate in site surveys, pilot program service activities, and attend meetings.
- Possess basic technical knowledge on the company's Trace and X-Ray technologies.
- Maintain clear and concise business communication (oral and written).
- Establish and maintain a close relationship with senior-level FSE's and Product Managers to support customer needs and stay updated on technical trends.
- Control and minimize costs.
- Travel, overtime, and work hours outside of Monday-Friday may be required.
- Comply with company health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Comply with US export control and security regulations.
- Perform other duties as required.
Education/Training: Associate's Degree/Related Trade Certification (electrical, electronic, mechanical)/Military Training (electrical, mechanical, electronics). Equivalence via 1-3 years of related work experience is acceptable.
Experience: Minimum 1-3 years directly involved in troubleshooting and field repair of electrical and electronic systems and equipment.
Knowledge/Skills: Strong communication skills, customer focus, and teamwork orientation. Responsive to all customer issues. Willingness to travel at short notice.
Background: May require Sensitive Security Information (SSI) access and vetting (TSA). May require a US Personal Security Clearance.
Physical/Mental Requirements: Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal skills; ability to multitask. Strong customer service skills and stress management abilities. Self-motivated, reliable, accountable; excellent phone skills. Ability to lift/carry 80 lbs., push/pull 200 lbs., and move/manipulate equipment up to 1000 lbs. with assistance. Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, turning, and working in unusual positions. Ability to work safely in extreme environments.
Work Environment: Typically at customer locations (airports, correctional facilities, courthouses, cruise ships, etc.).
Salary Range: $42,000 - $98,000
