Job Summary: This position supports on-call work and requires travel. The primary assignment location is Presidio, TX, with backup support for Del Rio, TX, El Paso, TX, and Eagle Pass, TX, within a 1-2 hour radius.
Duties:
- Troubleshoots, services, installs, and repairs Trace, X-Ray, CT X-Ray, and Cargo Inspection equipment at customer sites.
- Maintains field service logs and filing systems for all service and job files until completion.
- Demonstrates initiative and dedication by maximizing downtime and exceeding customer and company requirements.
- Conducts follow-up calls to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Meets daily service repair needs and drives customer satisfaction.
- Installs, repairs, and maintains equipment; provides customer training.
- Responds to emergency and non-scheduled calls within response time goals.
- Completes scheduled maintenance within deadlines.
- Documents inspections, maintenance, and repair work promptly.
- Orders, installs, and returns parts; manages repair parts cycle time.
- Maintains an accurate inventory of parts and tools.
- Maintains technical certifications.
- Reviews logs for open issues and prepares formal reports to customers.
- Participates in service sales, promotes, and implements revenue programs.
- Seeks knowledge from senior FSTs.
- Ensures proper maintenance and calibration of tools and test equipment.
- Assesses product/equipment performance, recommends modifications/improvements.
- Provides technical support to customers and other service professionals.
- Participates in site surveys, pilot programs, meetings, special projects, and prepares reports.
- Maintains technical knowledge of Trace and X-Ray technologies.
- Maintains clear and concise business communication (oral and written).
- Establishes and maintains relationships with senior FSTs and Product Managers.
- Controls and minimizes costs while maximizing revenue.
- Submits expenses, time cards, and other administrative tasks on time.
- Complies with company health, safety, and environmental policies and U.S. export control and security regulations.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree/Related Trade Certification (electrical, electronic, mechanical) or Military Training (electrical, mechanical, electronics). (Equivalence via work experience is acceptable.)
- Computer literacy; proficiency in MS Office Suite; aptitude for specialized software.
- Minimum 5 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical and electronic systems/equipment.
- Excellent communication and customer focus skills; strong teamwork orientation.
- Responsiveness to all customer issues.
- Willingness to travel at short notice.
- Ability to lift/carry 80 lbs.
- Familiarity with carts, hoists, davit cranes, pallet jacks, etc.
- Full body mobility.
- Ability to work safely in varied environments.
Background: Requires Sensitive Security Information (SSI) access, TSA vetting, federal background investigation, and potentially a U.S. Personal Security Clearance.
