Job Details

This position requires daily travel to locations in and around the Austin area, including the airport.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, service, install (deploy) and repair Trace, X-Ray, CT X-ray and Cargo Inspection equipment at customer sites.
  • Maintain field service log and filing system.
  • Provide assistance to the Technical Support staff when not on travel or assigned shift.
  • Conduct follow up calls with the customer to ensure satisfaction.
  • Mentor lower level FSTs.
  • Meet daily service repair needs and drive customer satisfaction.
  • Foster positive customer relations.
  • Install, repair, and maintain equipment in the field; provide customer training.
  • Respond to emergency and non-scheduled calls for service.
  • Complete all scheduled maintenance within required deadlines.
  • Document all inspections, maintenance, repair work.
  • Order, install, and return parts; manage repair parts cycle time.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of parts and tools.
  • Maintain currency on all technical certifications.
  • Review logs for open issues and prepare formal reports to customers.
  • Participate in Service Sales opportunities.
  • Seek knowledge growth from senior FSTs.
  • Maintain tools and test equipment.
  • Assess product/equipment performance based on field support data.
  • Seek to provide technical support to customers.
  • Participate in site surveys and pilot programs.
  • Prepare reports, champion special projects, attend meetings.
  • Establish and maintain close relationships with senior FST's and Product Managers.
  • Control and minimize costs while maximizing revenue.
  • Submit expenses, timecards, and other administrative tasks.
  • Comply with Company health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Comply with export control and security regulations.
  • Other duties as required.

Education/Training:

  • Associate’s Degree/Related Trade Certification (electrical, electronic, mechanical)
  • Military Training (electrical, mechanical, electronics)
  • Equivalence through comparative work experience

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years experience troubleshooting and field repair of electrical and electronic systems/equipment

  • Customer locations (airports, correctional facilities, courthouses, cruise ships)

Hiring Salary Range: $48,500.00-$112,500.00/yr
